Single Port RS232 Serial Comms Compact Flash Card with DC Converter 5V Power Output and Ruggedised Cable : CF500-R

The CF500-R is a tiny TypeI format Compact Flash (CF+) single RS232 asynchronous serial port for your PDA or laptop (with an optional adapter), that outputs 5V DC @ 100mA regardless of the input voltage to the CF card. This make the card perfect for connecting equipment that requires 5V but that needs to run on a PDA that only supplies 3.3V. The card outputs the 5V power on Pin 9 (normally Ring Indicate).

The card automatically configures to become another COM port by using the built-in O.S. drivers that are tried and tested and are optimized to work in the Windows environment.

The CF500-R is a new design. Samples are available now for OEM evaluation.

	16C550 UART with 16-byte TX and RX FIFOs for high speed and reliable communications
	Hardware switchable baud rate multiplier allows either industry standard rates up to 115KBaud in x1 mode or up to 921Kbaud in x8 mode...no special drivers needed so faster rates work in Ce & PocketPC
	Efficient DC DC converter to generates 5V output whether the host Vcc is 3.3V or 5V. Max DC DC output is 100mA at 5V (host permitting)
	Supported by standard drivers in DOS*, Windows95, 98, 98SE, Me, NT4, 2000, XP, CE.NET Windows Mobile, PocketPC & Linux. Card comes with Elan's Card Center Pro software that installs INF scripts and sample code
	Automatic O.S. recognition and configuration. Hot swappable CF+ compliant TypeI design
	Low power consumption: Typical 28mA at 5V or 22mA at 3.3V (no DC DC load) (all figures are typical)
	Power consumption with 100mA load on DC DC output : 140mA at host Vcc of 5V or 200mA at host Vcc of 3.3V. (all figures are typical)
	15KVolt ESD protected RS232 drivers and receivers for protection of your card and PC
	CF500-R is supplied with permanent 300mm rugged cable. DB9 Male with female screwlocks and industry standard RS232 pinout (except Pin9) for direct attachment of terminal equipment
