datasheet
USB Single Chip Drive (uSCD) Produit STEC

Industrial-grade embedded flash storage providing USB 2.0 support in ultra-compact single-chip designs for highly integrated systems.

uSCD
The USB Single Chip Drive (uSCD) combines a standard USB 1.1/2.0 interface with the latest Single Level Cell NAND Flash technology in a 50-ball BGA package, making it ideal for designers who are seeking solid state storage in a small form factor.

The standard USB interface provides for short design cycles and fast time to market, making it an ideal storage solution for applications such as handheld devices, Point of Sales (POS), Gaming, Networking equipment, and GPS.

Designers that have traditionally been using IDE devices because of their standardized parallel ATA interface now have an alternative higher performance serial solution. If there is no true need for a removable storage device, the uSCD can lower the bill of material and manufacturing costs, as designers can remove costly ATA connectors from their board and save real estate as well as reduce costly manufacturing steps.
